Maicol Ciani is currently enrolled in a Doctoral program in Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Bologna, under the supervision of Professors Davide Rossi and Luca Benini. He obtained a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, presenting a thesis entitled "System-Level Integration of a Security Enclave on a RISC-V based Embedded System On Chip". His current research topic concerns the extension RISC-V heterogeneous architectures for hardware-assisted security, with funding from the European Processor Initiative.
