Linguist specializing in cognitive and distributional semantics, she has been at the University of Bologna since 2019.
After a period as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Amsterdam (2015–2017), she was a researcher at the University of Oxford (2017–2019) within a project funded by the AHRC (Arts & Humanities Research Council).
Since 2022, she has been Principal Investigator of the ERC Starting Grant ABSTRACTION (ERC-2021-STG-101039777), which investigates the role of language in the formation of semantic categories at different levels of abstraction and their functioning in cognitive and communicative processes.
She has also served as Vice-PI and head of the University of Bologna unit in the PRIN 2022 project WEMB – Word Embeddings: from Cognitive Linguistics to Language Engineering and Back, in collaboration with ISTI-CNR, focusing on the relationship between distributional representations of meaning and human cognitive processes.
Her research is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that integrates linguistic theory and qualitative analysis with experimental methods and computational modeling.
