Curriculum vitae

Associate Professor in Latin Language and Literature at the University of Bologna.

His research interests focus on the study of ancient Virgilian and Terentian exegesis (Tiberius Claudius Donatus, Servius, Eugraphius) and Greek-Latin rhetoric (progymnasmata; issues-theory; rhetoric as a tool of literary criticism; Emporius).

EDUCATION

Graduated in Classical Literature in 2000 at the University of Milan, he then obtained a PhD in "Philology, literature and classical tradition", at the University of Milan, in 2004.

ACADEMIC CAREER

During his academic career, he has held various teaching and research roles. He has collaborated with the universities of Milan, Bologna, Cassino, Palermo, as well as with the CNRS in Paris.

In 2011-2012 he was Investigador contratado at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid; in 2016-2017 he was Visiting fellow at the ANU of Canberra.

In 2015 he obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the role of Associate Professor - Disciplinary sector: Latin Language and Literature (10 / D3).

In 2018 he became Research Associate in Latin Language and Literature at the University of Bologna; since 2021 he has been Associate Professor.

TEACHING ACTIVITY

Since 2005 he has been continuously teaching in various courses for both Bachelor’s and Master's Degree Courses in the School of Literature and Cultural Heritage.

He is currently professor of Latin Language and Latin Philology and Literature at the University of Bologna.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

He has participated in numerous national and international research programs including:

▪2016-2017: DIS - Database of Imaginary Speeches. Research project on Latin declamations. Tutor: Prof. ANTONIO STRAMAGLIA (University of Cassino).
