Graduate Semiotics (D.A.M.S., University of Bologna) with Umberto Eco.
PhD Semiotics (Umberto Eco and Paolo Fabbri).
His research interests are focused on popular music, media, youth cultures, and the relationship between sound and image in the audiovisual language.
He spent research periods in Belgium, France, the United States and Great Britain; he was a post-doc scholarship holder and obtained several research grants inside semiotics area; he taught as Adjunct Professor in several Italian universities and as Temporary Lecturer spent a period of three years at the Department for Life Quality Studies, in the Rimini Campus. He has been vice-president of AISS (Italian Association of Semiotic Studies).
Currently he is qualified as Full Professor of Philosophy and Theory of Language.
