Luciano Potena

Full professor since 2025, he also serves as Director of the Cardiovascular Internal Medicine Unit and of the Heart Failure and Transplantation Unit. His research interests mainly focus on the pathophysiology of heart failure and on medical complications after heart transplantation, spanning multidisciplinary areas that include infections, clinical immunology, and cardiovascular prevention. He is involved in several national and international research projects, among which he coordinates a project funded under the Horizon Europe programme. He is the author of over 200 publications.
