Research

Study of lesions and degenerative diseases of the nervous system, with particular focus on strategies to combat early pathogenic phenomena such as neuroinflammation and the interference of environmental pollutants with neurodevelopment.

Phenotyping of new disease models in normal, mutated and transgenic animals. Study of complex behaviors, such as locomotion, learning and memory, somatosensory integration, assisted by video tracking techniques and automatic trace analysis

Morphological and molecular study of tissues using the tools of digital morphology and computerized image analysis of preparations treated with immunohistochemical techniques;

Study and development of strategies aimed at the "replacement" of animal experimentation, through the development of advanced 3D culture systems, also starting from embryonic and neural stem cells.
