Curriculum vitae

Lorenzo Zamagni is a PhD student in the Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering Department (DICAM) at the University of Bologna, where he focuses on the aging effects of high-pressure hydrogen on polymeric materials.

His PhD project, entitled H2DuraPol, is a collaboration between the University of Bologna, Italy, and the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, under the affiliation of the Dutch Polymer Institute (DPI).

He received both his Bachelor's (2022) and Master’s (2025) in chemical engineering at the University of Bologna, Italy. During his Master’s degree, he spent 6 months at Rice University in Houston, Texas, USA.
There, he focused on the phase equilibria calculations of a ternary system of lignin, water, and ethanol under the supervision of Dr. Walter Chapman.

From June to October 2025, he worked at the University of Bologna with a post-graduation research scholarship, modeling polymer membrane plants for CO2 capture.

His research interests encompass thermodynamics, fluid phase equilibria, and transport phenomena in the field of polymer science.
