Curriculum vitae

Lorenzo Pucci is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bologna. He earned his master degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering (summa cum laude) and his PhD degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, and Information Technologies Engineering at the University of Bologna, in 2019 and 2024, respectively.

The leading theme of his research activity is the study of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique, used to jointly perform sensing and communications functions with the same system. He is also interested in the internet-of-things, wireless sensor networks, and machine learning techniques for classification problems.

Since March 2021, he has been involved in the research project “Towards Ubiquitous 6G Joint Communication and Sensing”, funded by the company Huawei Technologies, within the National Laboratory of Wireless Communications (WiLab) – Huawei Joint Innovation Center (JIC). One of the main purposes of the project is to study the performance of a joint communication and sensing system based on 5G and beyond 5G signals.

From July 2019 to October 2020, he worked as a research fellow in the research project “Cold management in Agro-food Chains” (CoACh), concerned with the development of an integrated system for the optimized management of the cold chain in a transformation process of vegetable products. His primary contribution to the project was the development of a wireless sensors network based on the LoRaWAN technology.

Lorenzo he also held the position as tutor for the bachelor's degree program in Electronics Engineering at the University of Bologna, Campus of Cesena from 2019 to 2022.
