Lorenzo Donatiello is Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Bologna. From 1984 to 1990, he was with the Department of Computer Science, University of Pisa. From March 1983 to April 1984 and from August 1986 to October 1986, he was a visiting scientist at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY, USA.
His research interests concern Distributed Systems, Simulation, Performance Evaluation of Computing and Communication Systems, Wireless Networks and Mobile Systems. In these fields, he is, and has been active in several reasearch projects, including A511-ToolIP “Tools and Methods for IP”, Eureka programme (Medea ), Perf (Performance Evaluation of Complex Systems-Techniques, Methodologies and Tools).
He is a member of IFIP WG 7.3, and was Associate Editor of Performance Evaluation (North Holland) from 2004 to 2017. He is a member of the Academy of Sciences of Bologna Institute.
