Curriculum vitae

Loredana Arienzo is a teaching tutor for the course of Foundations of Telecommunications and for the course of Telecommunications Networks Laboratory at the School of Engineering of the University of Bologna since the academic year 2018-2019.

She has been a research associate with the Telecommunications and Navigation Unit, Italian Space Agency (ASI), Italy, since October 2016. She was a research associate on Next Generation Satellite Communications Systems at the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering of the University of Bologna from 2013 to 2015. She was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for the Protection and the Security of the Citizen in the Joint Research Center of European Commission from 2008 to 2011.

Loredana Arienzo received her PhD in Information Engineering from the University of Salerno in 2008. She was a visiting researcher in BWN Lab, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, in 2006. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Salerno, in 1999 and her Associate degree in Software Engineering from the University of Benevento, in 2001.

She has participated in several European research projects: QV-LIFT “Q/V band Earth Segment Link for Future High Throughput Space Systems” H2020-COMPET project, EUCISE2020 “EUropean testbed for the maritime Common Information Sharing Environment in the 2020 perspective” FP7 SEC project, COST Action IC0902 “Cognitive Radio and Networking for Cooperative Coexistence of Heterogeneous Wireless Networks”, CoRaSat STREP Project “COgnitive RAdio for SATellite Communications” funded by EU FP7 ICT program and of Artes 1 “Next Generation Waveform for improved Spectral Efficiency in Broadband and Broadcast Satellite Communication Systems”, funded by ESA.

Her research interests focus on wireless communications, ad-hoc and sensor networks, distributed signal processing, tracking in ad-hoc and wireless sensor networks, cognitive radio networks, satellite communications, satellite navigation. Loredana Arienzo is a member of IEEE, IEEE Communication Society and IEEE Signal Processing Society. She is a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Communications Letters. She serves as session chair and technical committee program member in various IEEE conferences.
