Curriculum vitae

PhD candidate at the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering (DICAM) of the University of Bologna, within the scientific disciplinary sector ICAR/09 – Structural Engineering, she conducts her research in the field of metal 3D printing for construction applications. Her research interests focus in particular on Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) technology and its applications in the construction sector, with specific attention to the design and optimization of structural components and to the mechanical characterization of materials and elements. She was a visiting PhD student at Cranfield University (United Kingdom), where she developed a research activity focused on the assessment of the environmental impact of WAAM 3D printing technology compared to traditional manufacturing processes, highlighting advantages in terms of material efficiency and the use of innovative technologies.

Education

She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2019 from the Polytechnic University of Bari, and her Master’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2022 from the University of Bologna. She is currently completing her PhD in Engineering and Information Technology for Structural and Environmental Monitoring and Risk Management (EIT4SEMM).

Scientific Activity

She has collaborated on national and European research projects, including:

  • the CIRCULAR WELD project (PRIN2022 PNRR program) and the DoTPOWER project (PRIN2022 program), both focused on the development of dot-by-dot Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) technology for metal 3D printing;
  • the ADDREss project (Erasmus+ program), aimed at developing e-learning modules for VET courses in Additive Manufacturing.

She is a member of the Additive Manufacturing and Automation in Construction (AMAC) research group at the DICAM Department of the University of Bologna, actively contributing to the activities of the Additive Manufacturing and Automation in Construction Laboratory, established in 2022.
