Thesis Opportunity: Circular economy and bio-based business models. The European project CROSS LIFE.

The thesis project will take place within the CROSS LIFE project (https://www.b-plas.it/progetto-cross-life/), funded by the European Commission, which proposes an integrated technology for industrial sludge management. This technology has a dual objective: to reduce the volume of sludge to be treated at the end of its life cycle and to utilize such sludge as a raw material for producing bio-materials, instead of using fossil sources.

The candidate's activity will focus on understanding the business model associated with the technology and developing a business plan based on different application contexts. The following activities are planned:

  • Document analysis and interviews with manufacturing companies involved as project partners to gain an in-depth understanding of the technology's application context.

  • Development of a business plan including an economic-financial analysis to evaluate the economic viability of the technology.

  • Scenario elaboration to understand the limitations and opportunities of applying the technology within the analyzed context.
