My field of research is contemporary urban design theories and planning cultures, with particular emphasis on the processes of urbanisation and infrastructurisation in different global contexts.
Particularly, my research focuses on:
- the spaces of contemporary logistics and infrastructures.
- the redefinition of the urban-rural relations caused by the global processes of urbanisation and economic reorganisation.
I have been investigating these issues in different contexts: in the post-2008-crisis Lisbon; in China, during the unprecedented urban growth related to the construction of new towns; and in today’s Southern Europe, where the infrastructural program related to the Belt and Road Initiative and the Next Generation EU are redefining spaces and economies.
