During the Thesis for the Medical Degree at the Pathology Department of the Sant'Anna Hospital, University of Ferrara, I participated to research projects on the role of Mismatch Repair Genes in Colorectal cancer and in Lynch syndrome.
As research fellow at the Department of Oncological sciences “L. e A. Seragnoli” of the University of Bologna on research projects on head and neck cancers. Results have been published in Histopathology (2011, 58(3):361-7) and International Journal of Surgical Pathology (2013, 21(2):133-41).
I currently work at the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Unit of the Sant’Orsola-Malpighi University Hospital of Bologna, performing also clinical and epidemiological research in the fields of gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett's oesophagus, Diagnoses and treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection and its role in gastric cancer carcinogenesis, prevention of gastrointestinal cancers, digestive and interventional endoscopy.

In 2016, I achieved a PhD in Clinical Oncology. he PhD project concerned the role of several clinical and molecular features, such as Mismatch Repair Genes, BRAF, K-ras, related to early onset colorectal cancers.
