I am an Associate Professor of Atmospheric Physics and Boundary Layer Meteorology in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Bologna. Prior to that, I was a Senior Assistant Professor at the same university. Before joining University of Bologna, I served as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Science at the University of Notre Dame, USA.
I have led/participated to multiple research projects in Boundary Layer Meteorology and Nature-Based Solutions, funded through competitive grants. Currently, I am coordinator of the Horizon Europe Project Albatross (Advancing knowldge for Long-term Benefits and climate Adaptation ThRough hOlistic climate Services and nature-based Solutions).
My primary research aims to deepen our understanding of atmospheric boundary-layer dynamics in complex and heterogeneous environments by combining observational and analytical approaches. Nature-based solutions and their monitoring and assessment as sustainable measures for climate change adaptation is also part of my research interests.
