I am a Senior Assistant Professor at University of Bologna, since November 2021.
Previously I hold the position of Research Assistant Professor at the University of Notre Dame, IN, USA, (2014-2018), where I was deployment manager, onsite team leader and scientific team member for several US and international research programs and field experiments, and recipient of three research grants. I was also Research Fellow at University of Bologna (November 2018-October 2021).
My primary research interest is the study of fundamental atmospheric boundary-layer flow dynamics in complex and heterogeneous environments (e.g. urban areas, coastal zones and mountainous terrain) by combining primarily experimental field measurements, data analyses and theoretical modeling. In addition, I am interested in interdisciplinary research on the mapping and assessment of nature-based solutions as sustainable measures for hydrometeorological risk reduction and climate change adaptation and mitigation. I am also actively involved in the development of a web platform for dissemination and exploitation of nature-based solutions and other activities of data management.
