Associated Professor in Environmental chemistry and radioactivity at the University of Bologna since 2005. My research activity is focussed on air pollution chemistry and global change. I have effected 8 studies of source apportionment at several urban-industrial sites in italy, while climate change studies mainly concerns Antarctica and the WMO-GAW station of Mt. Cimone the most important climatological observatory in Italy. I started to work on PM10 in the mid 90's well before its introduction within the criteria atmospheric pollutants according to EU environmental legislation. We have also published one of the first Italian papers on the effects of ocean acidification by carbon dioxide in Antarctica.I carry out my research both in the field of pure research (environmental chemistry and physics) and in support of governmental agencies and institutions, including environmental forensics.
