Laura Occhipinti

I am a research fellow in the project “ABSTRACTION: Unlocking meaning from experience through language” (ERC 2021), where I investigate linguistic complexity, readability, and the interplay between these dimensions and linguistic abstraction.

I hold a PhD in Computational Linguistics from the Department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies at the University of Bologna. My doctoral research focused on lexical complexity in Italian institutional language, and I developed computational models for automatic text simplification, aiming to enhance both accessibility and readability.
