Curriculum vitae

Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Bologna, Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, she carries on her work at the Pediatric Oncohematology Unit-Prete of IRCCS Policlinico Sant'Orsola, under the supervision of Prof. Riccardo Masetti. Her research interests are focused on revealing vulnerabilities in early hematopoietic stages to identify novel therapeutic targets in pediatric non-Down Syndrome Acute Megakaryoblastic Leukemia (non-DS-AMKL) (AIRC IG).

Education

PhD Degree in Clinical and Experimental Medicine (CEM) obtained cum laude in 2019 at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

Master's Degree in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnologies (LM-8) obtained in 2015 at the University of Bologna.

Qualification to practice as professional biologist.

Scientific activity

She took part in many competitiv AIRC projects linked to the study of acute leukemias, both in adult and pediatric background, focusing on either T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia first and acute myeloid leukemia afterwards. She acquired expertise in cellular biology (modeling of pluripotent stem cells and hematopoietic differentiation in vitro, manipulation of blasts derived from patients and human cell lines) and molecular biology (qPCR, multiparametric citofluorimetric analysis, sequencing, cloning, western blot, viability and metabolic assays.

She attended several national and international conferences, among which the Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society for Haematology, where in the session “Top abstract with expert perspective: Acute Leukaemia”, she orally presented her work “Targeting metabolic vulnerabilities and aberrant signal transduction pathways in paediatric T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (T-ALL)”.

Visiting researcher at the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Center of the University of Glasgow (UK) and at the Gustave Roussy Institut in Paris (France).
