Junia Maisa De Oliveira Pereira

Júnia is a 40th-cycle Ph.D. candidate in Cybersecurity at the University of Bologna, Italy. She received a B.Sc. in Science and Technology in 2019 and a B.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering in 2021 from the Federal University of São João del-Rei, Brazil. In 2024, she earned an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, where she developed a modular framework based on the Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF) for data analysis and anomaly detection in 5G networks. Her doctoral research investigates artificial intelligence methods for detecting code-reuse attacks through instruction-level execution traces from embedded systems. Her work addresses compact neural networks, preprocessing methods, robustness, quantization, and evaluation under constrained computing resources. Her research interests include embedded-system security, anomaly detection, edge AI, wireless communications, and 5G-and-beyond networks.
