Ioannis G. Papanikolaou, MD, PhD, MSc (MIRS), MSc (RRM), FERM, is an Adjunct Professor of Human Anatomy at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna and the University of Milan. He is actively involved in teaching, academic coordination and student assessment in Human Anatomy, serving as Integrated Course Coordinator and Chair of the Examination Board across six degree programmes within the School of Medicine and Surgery, as well as the International Pharmacy Degree Programme. He holds a PhD in Experimental Surgery, a Master of Science (MSc) in Robotic Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery and Telesurgery, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Reproductive and Regenerative Medicine, in addition to a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine. He has received scientific awards, research grants and scholarships in recognition of his contributions. His research focuses on regenerative medicine, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, surgical simulation, and innovation in medical education. He is the author of numerous international scientific publications and has gained clinical experience at internationally renowned healthcare institutions.
