Short Bio

I am an Associate Professor in Sociology at UNIBO and ISA’s RC34 “Sociology of Youth” Organisational Secretary.

I have been Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at Örebro University (2016-2018), postdoc at University of Siena (2019) and Humboldt Experienced Researcher at Goethe Universität Frankfurt (2019-2022). I have been involved in FP7 (Goete) and Horizon 2020 projects (Partispace) and worked as expert for different European institutions (CoE and EC). I am currently local PI for the Erasmus+ project "Mind the Gap" focusing on young people's mental health in transitions to work.

Youth studies are my main field of research and my analytical perspective is influenced by sociology of everyday life, gender studies and social movement studies. I conduct research mainly through qualitative methodologies (ethnography, biographical interviews, GT) and I am interested in the ethical aspects related to their application.

For student meetings, please always send an email (not via Teams, not Virtuale) to arrange a date/time.

In general, the meetings are held on Teams, at the G1 studio in the Morgagni Pavilion in Forlì (on Monday afternoons from 1 PM to 4 PM only during the September/December period) or at my office in Palazzo Hercolani in Bologna (on Monday afternoons from 1 PM to 4 PM during the January/September period).
