Ignacio Javier Fernandez

Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Bologna since 2022. He obtained his medical degree in 2003 and completed the recidency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery in 2007, in the University of Bologna. In 2012 he obtained the certification of Fellow of the European Board of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.

Currently he is Director of the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Department of Ravenna, AUSL della Romagna.

He carries out his research activity in the field of Otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery, focusing on otologic surgery, lateral skull base surgery, facial nerve surgery and facial palsy reanimation. He is currently involved in national research projects on oncological head and neck surgery and in international projects on endoscopic ear surgery with other european academic research institutes.
