Curriculum vitae

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (RTT) at the University of Bologna since 2025, conducting research in the field of Medical Oncology. His main research interests include neuroendocrine tumors, thoracic neuroendocrine neoplasms—with a particular focus on small cell lung cancer (SCLC)—and clinical research methodology in oncology. His research projects focus on advanced molecular characterization of neuroendocrine neoplasms and the design and conduct of independent clinical trials.

Education

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2013 from the University of Naples Federico II and completed his residency in Medical Oncology in 2019 at the University of Bologna. During the final year of his residency, he completed a research fellowship at the Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – Harvard Medical School Cancer Center (Boston, USA), where he conducted a research project on predictive biomarkers of response to immunotherapy in lung cancer.

He subsequently earned a PhD in Oncology in 2023 with a research project focused on a multicenter Italian clinical trial investigating the combination of angiogenesis inhibition with chemoimmunotherapy in patients with advanced small cell lung cancer (SCLC). In 2022, he completed a second one-year research fellowship in thoracic oncology at the Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – Harvard Medical School Cancer Center (Boston, USA). From 2022 to 2025, he served as a fixed-term Assistant Professor (RTD-A) at the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna.

Scientific Activity

Author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in international scientific journals.
