Prof. Giuseppe Casale former Director of the ILO (Geneva), of the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (Turin) and of the Turin School of Development.
Prof. Giuseppe Casale has studied law, political science, international economics and history. He holds a PhD, C.Phil and M.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), an M.A. from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, The Johns Hopkins University (Washington D.C.) and a Master in Political Sciences, Faculty of Political Sciences “Cesare Alfieri”, University of Florence.
He is currently teaching international labour law at the Department of Law of the University of Bologna and ITCILO, Turin, and visiting scholar in international and comparative labour law at Cà Foscari University of Venice. He lectures in several European and international universities on global employment issues, economic and social institutions, international labour law, industrial relations, labour administration, labour inspection, occupational safety and health, role of the international organizations, training and learning methods in higher education.
He is Honorary President of the International Society for Labour and Social Security Law (ISLSSL), Geneva. Former Secretary-General of the ISLSSL, Geneva. Former Secretary General of the International Industrial Relations Association (IIRA, now ILERA), Geneva.
He is expert of the European Commission and of International Organisations. He is a member of several European and international research and scientific committees. He is editorial board member of several academic journals.
