Junior assistant professor at the University of Bologna since 2020, she carries out her research in the field of Bioinformatics at the Biocomputing Group. The research interests are in systematic biology: gene-disease relations, phenotype-biological process relation, protein annotation, development of resources (databases, tools) for the scientific community. Author of numerous publications, she received the second prize for the 3MT competition of the University of Bologna in 2017. She actively participated in the European project H2020-CIRCLES for the implementation of computational infrastructures and development of bioinformatics tools (based on AI and machine learning), for the management and analysis of biological Big data, in parallel with the maintenance and improvement of databases of genes and diseases, in particular eDGAR (edgar.biocomp.unibo.it) and PhenPath (phenpath.unibo.it). Currently, she is working on the identification of innovative drug discovery targets from genome bioinformatics analyses, a project that is part of the Spoke 8 "In Silico Medicine & Omics Data" by ICSC - Centro Nazionale HPC, Big data and Quantum Computing.
