Giulia Alessandri

I am concluding my PhD in Mechanics and Advanced Sciences of Engineering at the University of Bologna, I explored advanced technologies, such as CAD modeling and 3D printing to enhance orthopedic preoperative surgical planning. I specialize in designing patient-specific instruments, including 3D anatomical models and cutting guides, with a focus on refining methods to replicate human body segments and improve realism.

I am currently attending a 6-month foreign research period at Uppsala University (Sweden) in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

As a Technical Drawing tutor at the university, I mentor undergraduates in their medical-themed thesis projects.

Prior to my third cycle of studies, I graduated in Advanced Design at the University of Bologna, with a thesis on a crutch with sensors for monitoring rehabilitation motion. My academic journey began with a bachelor's in Industrial Product Design from the Polytechnic of Milan.
