Personal statement

I am a dedicated and accomplished hematologist specializing in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). My journey in this field began in 2012 when I embarked on my training at Istituto Serágnoli, U.O Ematologia, Ospedale S. Orsola of Bologna, where I developed a deep understanding of hematology and honed my clinical skills. In November 2020, I achieved the Hematologist qualification. Throughout my career, I have actively engaged in clinical research, conducting institutional, local, and national studies. My research endeavors have focused on AML and ALL from translational to clinical research, and I have contributed to numerous publications, including peer-reviewed articles and presentations at international meetings. Notably, I have been involved in setting up and conducting prospective clinical trials, which are expected to yield significant results within the next years. Looking ahead, my goal is to continue my path to excellence in the field of acute leukemias. My passion for research and dedication to improving patient outcomes drive me to pursue new frontiers and explore innovative approaches in the field.

Main Research Activities

I worked in the design of many spontaneous and company-sponsored clinical trials. Specifically, I worked as co-principal investigator in NCT03898128, NCT03455504, NCT03610438, NCT04070807, and I was included in the steering commitee of the trial MINIMAL (opening), RIVER 81 (Ryvu, opening), RIVER 52 (Ryvu, opening), Astrazeneca (undisclosed target, opening).

I work as a local principal investigator or sub-investigator in phase I – II – III trials: Roche, Astellas, Cellgene, J&J, Novartis, Abbvie, Pfizer e studi spontanei. Cohordinator for Italy of NCT04797780.

I work as a coordinator BPDCN registry for ERN-EuroBloodNet.

I’m the scientific project coordinator of IMPACT-AML, founded under Horizon Europe Mission Cancer HORIZON-MISS-2022-CANCER-01 (project lead: Giovanni Martinelli).

I participate as an expert in EUAfricaPerMED.
