Giovanni Ciatto

I am tenure-track researcher at Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, UniBO, since March 2026, with a PhD in Data Science and Computation and an M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering. Since Dec. 2024, I hold the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in Computer Engineering (ING-INF). Previously, I was a junior assistant professor (2023–2026), post-doctoral fellow (2022–2023), and PhD student (2017–2021) at the same department. My research focuses on AI, logic programming, MAS, distributed systems, and software engineering; particularly symbolic reasoning, sub-symbolic processing, and their intersection. I have taught these topics at UniBO and international venues and co-authored 70+ publications. I actively organize special issues and review for major MAS- and AI-related journals and conferences. Additionally, I contribute to research-oriented open-soruce software tools, including logic solvers (e.g., 2P-Kt) and BDI agent programming toolkits (e.g., JaKtA).
