Giovanni Brandi

Associate professor in Medical Oncology at the University of Bologna and head of the "Hepato-biliary and pancreatic tumors" Program at the Policlinico S. Orsola-Malpighi.

He carries out his research in the field of neoplasms of the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliopancreatic tract, mainly on carcinogenesis and treatment of tumors of the gastrointestinal tract.
Main research areas:

- Exploration of new potential treatments for pancreatic cancer,
- Identification of prognostic and predictive factors of response to chemotherapy treatment in biliary tract tumors and hepatocellular carcinoma,
- Identification (through WES and RNAseq analysis) of the molecular pathways involved in the carcinogenesis of biliary tract tumors and possible tissue and circulating biomarkers of exposure to various risk factors (including asbestos) in patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (Etherbil study - NCT02184871).
Engaged in national and international research projects, he collaborates with various European and non-European institutes. Author of over 230 full paper in indexed international journals. Go to the Curriculum vitae
