Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 2002, he carries out his research in the microbiological field, focusing on: evaluation of plant / synthesis formulations, active against multi-drug resistant bacteria (MDR) and bacterial biofilm; evaluation of the drug resistance of bacterial isolates: carbapenemase-producing enterobacteria (KPC) and extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL), methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), using MALDI-TOF technology; development of synergy tests between antibacterial drugs for the treatment of infections with multi-drug resistant bacteria (MDR); evaluation of the antimicrobial activity of nanobiomaterials He collaborates with various research groups and the results obtained in his research have been published in more than 100 publications on International Journals with Impact factor.
