Associate Professor of Veterinary Pathology at the University of Bologna since 2018, his research focuses primarily on neoplastic diseases in companion animals, with particular emphasis on soft tissue and bone sarcomas. His current work is dedicated to studying the tumor microenvironment and its implications in tumor progression and treatment in veterinary oncology.
He is the Director of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP) residency program at the University of Bologna. Within the ECVP, he has served as a member of the Council and was a member, and subsequently Chair, of the Examination Committee.
He actively collaborates with numerous research institutions both in Italy and abroad and is the author of numerous scientific publications. He has also contributed to the development of the international classifications for soft tissue and bone tumors in domestic animals.
