IMPORTANT: Reference Letters, second note
Students should be advised that, as of May 1st, 2015, a new rule will be applied by the instructor for those requesting a presentation/reference letter.
These letter,s if done properly, always require around an hour, for each request. since nowadays all institutions, universities and so on require such letters, this instructor is spending an increasing amount time in drafting and writing them. Unfortunately, most of the time, this instructor knows very well that the chances for the applicant to pass the selection are quite slim.
Nevertheless, students keep asking for them. it is not their fault, only that, as mentioned above, basically every institution/organisation asks for one or more.
Hence, if a student intends to ask this instructor for such a letter, he/she will automatically accept the instructor's judgment about his/her chances to make it. In case of a low probability to pass, the instructor will simply not write the letter: no exception.
