Giacomo Savelli carries out his research at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN), University of Bologna. His scientific work focuses on the development of computational models for the study of osteoporosis, with particular attention to the prevention of femoral fractures in osteoporotic women. His research is part of the broader field of In Silico medicine, combining biomechanical approaches and stochastic modeling. In recent years, he has been involved in the development of BoneStrength, a modular platform that enables the application of In Silico medicine both in the development of pharmacological treatments and medical devices, and in the evaluation of large-scale preventive strategies, such as public health policies aimed at reducing fracture risk in the osteoporotic population.
