Giacomo Iazzetta is adjunct professor of Arabic language at the University of Bologna and postdoctoral researcher at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice, where he conducts projects on sociolinguistic practices of Arabic speakers in italy. Also, he is member of the Laboratorio DAR (Didattica dell'Arabo in Ricerca). His last project focuses on multilingualism in Islamic education in Italy. He obtained his PhD in Sociolinguistics 2024 at University of Essex (UK). His research interests center on language policy, Arabic sociolinguistics, and the dynamics of linguistic identity and inclusion among Arab-speaking communities, with a particular focus on North Africa and the Italian context. He has conducted field research in Tunisia and Morocco, and is also interested in research on methodology in linguistics, sociolinguistics and ethnography. He has extensive experience in field research, academic teaching, and multilingual education, and he actively contributes to international conferences, publications, and community engagement initiatives.
