Short Bio

Giacomo Frisoni received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science and engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2017 and 2020—both with honors. He is currently a third-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Bologna. His research interests include natural language understanding, neuro-symbolic AI, and graph neural networks. He presented several original papers to international journals and peer-reviewed conferences—including top-tier venues like EMNLP, AAAI, and COLING, winning two Best Paper Awards.
In 2020, he was among the worldwide selected program attendees at the Cornell, Maryland, Max Planck Pre-doctoral Research School. In the same year, he received the con.Scienze Award for writing one of the ten best Italian scientific research works during the master's thesis. In June 2022, he was selected as a member of the first HuggingFace Student Ambassador program. In September-December 2022, he was a visiting postgraduate researcher at the University of Glasgow, School of Computing Science, Scotland. Go to the Curriculum vitae
