Francesco Tovoli

Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Bologna and Attending Physician at IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Bologna. His clinical and research activities mainly focus on chronic and metabolic liver diseases (including MASLD), hepatocellular carcinoma (with a particular interest in systemic therapies and immunotherapy), celiac disease, and gluten-related disorders.

He coordinates national multicenter research groups dedicated to hepatocellular carcinoma. He has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator of competitively funded research projects supported by the Italian Ministry of Health and the Italian Ministry of University and Research.
