On July 19, 2001 ( AA 2000/2001 ) obtained his degree in
Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bologna with a thesis
titled "Optimized Project Of Medium Size Combined Cycle Power
Plant" , held at the DIEM department of the Faculty of Engineering
under the guidance of Prof. Giorgio Negri and Montenegro in
cooperation with Cefla Imola.
In December 2001 he passed the examination for admission to the
PhD program in "Machines Engineering and Energy Systems " at the
Faculty of Engineering of the University of Bologna. During the
three years as PhD student carried out scientific research in the
field of energy systems alongside the research group coordinated by
Prof. Antonio Peretto .
In 2002 he qualified as a professional engineer .
On 25 June 2005 obtained the title of PhD in “Machines
Engineering and Energy Systems” (XVII cycle) at the University of
Bologna with a thesis titled "A Parametric Evaluation Of Fogging
Technology For Gas Turbine Performance Enhancement".
From 01/10/2005 to 30/09/2006 was the holder of an annual
research grant from National Agency for New Technologies , Energy
and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA ) entitled " Study and
testing of technologies, systems and energy systems " aimed in
particular to the study and optimization of district heating and
cooling network.
From 01/11/2006 to 31/10/2007 was the holder of an annual
research grant from the University of Bologna entitled "Studies and
testing of technologies, systems and energy systems " on issues
related to the integration of district heating networks with high
efficiency systems.
From 01/11/2007 to 30/09/2008 was the holder of an annual
research grant from University of Bologna entitled " Studies and
testing of technologies, systems and energy systems" on issues
related to the integration of district heating systems with high
efficiency .
From 01/02/2009 to 31/01/2010 was the holder of an annual
research grant from the University of Bologna entitled "Numerical
and experimental use for the optimization of biogas in internal
combustion engines of small size (<200 kW)"
From 01/02/2010 to 31/07/2011 was the holder of a research grant
annual University of Bologna (renewal of the research of which it
already owned ) entitled “Numerical and experimental use for the
optimization of biogas in internal combustion engines of small size
(<200 kW)"
From 02/08/2010 to 01/08/2013 has been researcher at the
Institute of Materials for Electronics and Magnetism ( IMEM ) of
Parma 's National Council of Researches (CNR) .
From 08.02.2013 is researcher at the Department of Industrial
Engineering (DIN ) of the School of Engineering and Architecture -
University of Bologna .
Since 2004 is Referee for scientific papers presented at
international conferences or journals, Session Organizer and
Session Chair for international conferences.
He is a member of several scientific committees both nationally
and internationally. In particular :
- Since 2004, is a member of the " Oil & Gas Applications
Committee" of the International Gas Turbine Institute of ASME ;
- Since 2004 he is member of the "Industrial & Cogeneration
Committee" of the International Gas Turbine Institute of ASME ;
- From 2010, is a member of the scientific committee of the
laboratory Laertes in the context of technology centers on the
issues of energy efficiency and security .
Since November 2013 he is a member of the Interdepartmental
Center for Industrial Research ( CIRI ) Energy and Environment (ENA
), which is part of the "high-tech network of Emilia Romagna "
within the operational unit of Bioenergy .
Since January 2014, is responsible for the maintenance and
calibration of equipment of the Laboratory of Energy Systems ,
Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Bologna.
Since January 2014, responsible for the maintenance of the
instruments of the Laboratory of the Tecnolopo of Ravenna under the
"Pilot Program for the experimental development of hydrogen
technologies"
He obtained the " Best Paper Award 2006 " by the Industrial
Committee of the International Gas Turbine Cogeneration &
Institute ( IGTI ) belonging to the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers (ASME ) for the work: " Development And Validation Of A
Computational Code For Wet Compression Simulation of Gas Turbines ,
" ASME Turbo Expo presented in Barcelona (Spain ) in May 2006.
