Curriculum vitae

 Francesco G. Galizia is Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN) of the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. The scientific, teaching, research and technology transfer activities are within the Scientific Disciplinary Sector Ing-Ind/17 - Industrial Mechanical Systems Engineering and focus on the design, management and optimization of advanced production systems with particular attention to the development and validation of multi-objective methods.


Since November 2019, he has been qualified as Associate Professor for the Scientific Sector 09/B2 - INDUSTRIAL MECHANICAL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING - SSD ING-IND/17 as a result of the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) of the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR).



Education

During the period October 2019 - August 2023, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN), Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna.

In March 2020 he obtained the degree of PhD in MECHATRONIC AND PRODUCT INNOVATION ENGINEERING - Address "Industrial Plants and Logistics" at the University of Padua with a thesis entitled "Reconfigurability principles in the design and management of advanced production systems", Supervisors: Prof. Cristina Mora and Prof. Marco Bortolini.

From January to April 2018 he is VISITING SCHOLAR at the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems Centre (IMS) of the University of Windsor (Ontario, Canada) under the supervision of Prof. Hoda ElMaraghy, Canada Research Chair in Manufacturing Systems.

In December 2015, he obtained his master's degree in Management Engineering (with a 110/110 cum laude) from the School of Engineering and Architecture of Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, discussing a thesis entitled "Is lean necessarily green? Evaluation of production performance and environmental impact in a two-tier logistics network." Thesis Supervisor: Prof. Cristina Mora, Co-Rapporteurs: Prof. Marco Bortolini and Alberto Regattieri.

 

Scientific and Research Activity

At September 2023, scientific and research activities have led to the writing of about 60 scientific memoirs, including memoirs published in international journals, book chapters for international scientific volumes, and memoirs presented and/or included in proceedings of international conferences.
