Post-doc Researcher at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. His research activities focus on the design, management and optimization of advanced production systems with particular attention to the development and validation of multi-objective methods.
Education
Francesco Gabriele Galizia received his Ph.D. at the Doctoral School in Mechatronic and Product Innovation Engineering of the University of Padua in March 2020. In 2016 he enabled to the Profession of Engineer by passing the Italian Practice Exam for the Industrial sector at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. In 2015 he received the Master Degree in Management Engineering at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna and in 2013 the Bachelor Degree in Management Engineering at the same university.
During the Ph.D. program, Francesco Gabriele Galizia was Visiting Researcher at the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems Center (IMSC) - University of Windsor (Windsor, Ontario, Canada) for a research project carried out in collaboration with Prof Hoda ElMaraghy (Canada Research Chair in Manufacturing Systems).
Scientific and Teaching Activities
Author of about 45 scientific publications, including articles in international journals, book chapters and contributions to national and international conferences.
Academic Tutor within the Degree and Master Degree courses in Management and Mechanical Engineering of the School of Engineering and Architecture of the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna for the Scientific Sector ING-IND/17.
Expert Member of the Evaluation Commission for the qualification to exercise the Profession of Engineer (Industrial Sector) of the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna.
Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale (ASN)
Since November 2020, he obtained the national habilitation to be Associate Professor for the Sector 09/B2, Industrial and Mechanical Plants, (SSD ING-IND/17) passing the Scientific Habilitation Concourse (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale ASN)
Awards and acknowledgments
Winner of an award issued by the Italian Railway Engineers College - CIFI - for best Master Degree thesis (academic year 2014-2015) focusing on the Italian intermodal and logistic system.
