Fellow at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Oxford, and Philip and Frances Hofer Lecturer at Harvard, I have been Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at Newcastle University (2018-2021).
After a degree and a three-year master degree in art history at the University of Bologna, I obtained an interdisciplinary PhD in semiotics and visual studies at the University of Siena and the Italian Institute of Human Studies, Florence.
For years, I have been curator librarian at the Art Library of the Federico Zeri Foundation.
I am interested in the power of images – particularly if multiplied, reproduced and disseminated in printed form (children's book illustration, colour-printing, ephemera) –, in the popularization of the history of art (mainly through TV programmes), in archives and libraries (their conservation and management, memory and oblivion).
I am actually working on the right to memory and the right to be forgotten in the contemporary infosphere.
