Francesca Casciaro

PhD Student in Surgical Sciences and Innovative Technologies at the University of Bologna, currently engaged in the AIR-IBD project, which investigates the impact of anxiety and nocebo effects in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis), with the aim of identifying strategies to improve clinical outcomes and patient quality of life.

Holding a Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology, she has developed a focused interest in the mechanisms underlying the brain–gut axis, as well as in the ways in which psychological and environmental factors influence physiology and treatment response.
