Francesca Benvenuti is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Bologna and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Padua. Her research project is entitled «Per imagines, per scripta: interazione tra testo e immagini in Livio e nella poesia didascalica latina».
She studied Classics at the University of Padua, where she obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and, in May 2022, her PhD. During her studies and subsequent research career, she spent periods abroad at Royal Holloway, University of London (academic year 2013/14), the University of Vienna (27/09/2016–26/02/2017), and Sorbonne Université (09/01/2026–12/04/2026).
Her research interests focus on Cicero, oratory and rhetoric, the representation of landscape, the relationship between humans and nature, and the visual reception of Livy’s Ab urbe condita libri. She is the author of a recently published commentary on Cicero’s Post reditum in senatu (Pisa: ETS, 2025).
