Floriana Jessica Di Paola

Floriana Jessica Di Paola is currently a clinical researcher at the IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Bologna and is affiliated with the Sant’Orsola Research Biobank platform. She is also a resident in Medical Genetics at the University of Bologna. She worked for approximately two years at the University of Bologna as a research fellow and holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany. Her doctoral research was funded by an ITN Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship (TRANSMIT – TRANSlating the role of Mitochondria in Tumorigenesis). She also spent a period abroad as a researcher at Oroboros Instruments (Innsbruck, Austria). She obtained a Master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Bologna and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Catania. She has participated in numerous national and international training and science communication activities. Her current research activity focuses on the identification of diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive biomarkers in solid tumors using next-generation sequencing techniques.
