Floriana Coppola obtained a Master's Degree in Environmental Assessment and Management and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bologna, with a thesis on the degradation processes of paper-based materials, combining analytical and modeling approaches.
She was later awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship at the University of Ljubljana with the UNCERTIR project, focusing on the analysis of uncertainty in quantitative methods based on IR spectroscopy for the characterization of historical materials. Her research explored the potential of a dating model developed by combining near-IR spectroscopy and machine learning methods, using the R programming language.
Currently, her research focuses on environmental impact analysis, applying the Life Cycle Thinking approach and related assessment methods.
Engaged in international research projects, she has collaborated and continues to collaborate with various European institutes and universities. Author of numerous publications.
