In 2011, Flavio Bertini received his Master Degree Summa Cum Laude in Computer Science from the University of Bologna, Italy. Thesis title: "Qualitative analysis of digital tomosynthesis images". In 2014, he completed his Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Bologna, under the supervision of Prof. Giulio Casciola. Doctoral dissertations: "A new 3D modelling paradigm for discrete model". In 2013, he was a visiting researcher at the Inria Bordeaux - Sud-Ouest under the supervision of the Inria Research Scientist Martin Hachet. In 2018, he was a Visiting Researcher at the Stanford University under Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action of the
MIREL project. Since January 2015, he is working with Prof. Danilo Montesi as research fellow at the University of Bologna, as member of the
SmartData Research Group. During the Ph.D. his research lies at the intersection of computer graphics, modelling and 3D interaction and visualization. Currently, his research interests focus on predictive models in healthcare and large-scale data analytics.
