Curriculum vitae

PhD in Geomatic Engineering and Transport since 2012, he has been Junior Assistant Professor in Transport Sciences at DICAM – UNIBO, Contract Professor at DICAM - UNIBO in Air Transport and now Professor in Port Transport Operation. Since 2019, he is member of the board of the Italian Society of Transport Academics (in Italian SIDT - Società Italiana dei Docenti di Trasporti).

Dissertation topics

Noise Abatements Procedures at airports (MOA in Civil Engineering, 2008) and Competition and Management of Air Transport Infrastructures (PhD thesis, 2012).

Research activities

He authored many scientific papers, contributions and conference proceedings; he is member of renowned Transportation working groups and peer reviewer of several journals fully cited on Scopus. Invited member of the reviewer board of the journal "Sustainability" (5YIF 2,801) by MDPI since 2019.

He has been involved in Interreg – Central Europe projects Airled, ECOTALE, Moses, Innovasump, Reif and, since 2015 – within the research team – has been in charge of the evaluation and optimization of the human organ air transport activities in Italy, in cooperation with the National Transplant Centre.

His main research topics are transport systems, performance and environmental capacity of transport infrastructures such as airports and ports, regulation of transport providers and simulation/safety assessment of Connected Automated Vehicles in cooperation with the JRC of the European Community.

He is a member of the Bologna branch of Order of Engineers and participates in the activities of Facility & Property Management Working Group.

He has done peer-review activity for the following journals:
Aerospace - Applied Sciences – Case Studies on Transport Policy - Sustainability - Infrastructures - International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health - Mathematical and Computational Applications – Urban Science e per l'Euro Working Group on Transportation.
