Associate Professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia since 2020, he carries out his research in the field of electronic measurements. His research interests are focused in particular on sensor network systems for distributed measurements, applied to industrial automation systems. Currently, he focuses his research on Internet of Things for smart measurement systems, applied in transversal areas, from industrial field, to energy and in biomedical.

Education
Graduated in Electronic Engineering in 2008, at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padova, he obtained his PhD in Information Engineering in 2012.

Academic career
After some years as a research fellow (from 2012 to 2018) at the IEIIT Institute of the CNR, he became in 2018 Researcher (RTD-A) in the disciplinary field ING-INF/05 (Computer Engineering), within the Department of Management and Engineering of the University of Padua. In August 2018 he obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor for the sector ING-INF/07. Since May 1, 2020 he is Associate Professor at the University of Modena.

Teaching activity
Since 2016 he has been continuously teaching as a lecturer of various courses for Bachelor and Master courses related to the School of Engineering of the University of Padova and, recently, of the University of Modena and Bologna.
He is currently teaching Electronic Measurements for the Bachelor Degree Course in Electronic Engineering, and Industrial Measurements for the Master Degree Course in Electronics Engineering at the University of Modena.
He is also professor of Advanced Sensors for Electric Vehicles for the Master Degree Course in Electric vehicle engineering at the University of Bologna.

He has participated in several national and international research programs: Measurements, and accuracy evaluation in wireless space–time localization applications under real–life conditions (PRIN 2008); Characterisation and performance measurement in hybrid smart transducer networks: innovative experimental methods and instrumentation (PRIN 2009); Implementing Manufacturing science solutions to increase equiPment pROductiVity and fab pErformance (Joint Technological Initiative (JTI) ENIAC, 2012); Generic Evolutionary Control knowledge-based Module (Flagship projects “The Factory of the Future”, CNR 2014); Multi-Agent Intelligent Control of time-critical Cyber-Physical Systems over wireless (University of Padua Research Project, 2017). Principal Investigator of INTERACT, Industrial inTernet of things architEctuRes and Algorithms for time-critical Cyber-physical sysTems, University of Padua Research Project, 2019.

Institutional Activities and Academic Commitments
He is Responsible for the Quality of the Degree Course in Electronic Engineering and of the master’s degree Course in Electronics Engineering of the University of Modena, and member of the Quality Commission of the Engineering Department "E. Ferrari" of the University of Modena.
He is Responsible for Internships for the master’s degree Course in Electric vehicle engineering of the University of Bologna.
He is member since 2018 of the Doctoral Faculty Committee in Mechatronics at the Department of Technique and Management of Industrial Systems of the University of Padua.

Membership in scientific and editorial boards
Since 2021, he is Associate Editor of the journal "IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics".
He is a member of the editorial board of several international journals, such as Sensors, Journal of System Architecture, International Journal of Computers and Applications, AEÜ - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, Wireless Communication and Mobile Computing.
