Federico Boscherini

Federico Boscherini (1960), Professor of Physics.

He is Director of the Materials Foundry Institute (IOM) of Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR), Trieste (https://iom.cnr.it) and is on leave from University of Bologna.

Prof. Boscherini is an internationally recognized scientist in the field of large scale facilities, synchrotron radiation and free electron lasers, for photon science and x-ray absorption spectroscopy. His position in the scientific community is testified by the election to Chair of the Council of the European X-ray Free Electron Laser GmbH (www.xfel.eu) from 2022, his role as Chair of beamtime allocation panel 04 of ESRF (2014 - 2016) and as President of the Italian Synchrotron Radiation Society (2012 - 2015).
