Federico Boscherini

Federico Boscherini (1960) is a Professor of Physics at the Physics and Astronomy Department of the University of Bologna. Previously, he was a researcher at INFN -Frascati National Laboratories and a post doctoral associate at the University of Minnesota (USA). Since 2021 he is Deputy Director of the Department.

He is an internationally recognized scientist in the field of synchrotron radiation and x-ray absorption spectroscopy. His position in the scientific community is testified by the election to Chair of the Council of the European X-ray Free Electron Laser GmbH (www.xfel.eu), his role as Chair of beamtime allocation panel 04 of ESRF (2014 - 2016) and as President of the Italian Synchrotron Radiation Society (2012 - 2015).

Prof. Boscherini's teaching duties have been and are qualified and numerous. He has first tought Physics in the degree course in Biology and presently teaches in the first and second level degree courses in Physics.
