Course structure & aims
Level: B2 - C1 (CEFR)
Duration: 5 two-hour lectures Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 15.00-17.00
Target group: Political Science students (Open to all courses & years)
Focus: Academic speaking skills & Public speaking
Course Description:
This 10-hour intensive course is designed to develop students’ confidence and effectiveness in spoken communication within academic settings. Through five focused lessons, participants will build essential skills for expressing ideas clearly, participating in discussions, and delivering structured academic presentations or talks.
The course emphasizes practical speaking tasks, including seminar discussions, short presentations, and critical responses, enabling learners to use appropriate academic language, support arguments with evidence, and engage with others’ viewpoints. Students will also improve pronunciation, fluency, and coherence, with targeted feedback provided throughout.
By the end of the course, participants will be better equipped to communicate ideas persuasively and professionally in a range of academic contexts.
