Fabio Leone

I am a Research Fellow at the Departments of Law and Political, Economic and Social Sciences (DIGSPES) at the University of Eastern Piedmont (UPO) and Adjunct Professor (temporary appointment) at the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Bologna. Previously I held teaching assistance and teaching positions at the University of Bologna. I was also a visiting Researcher at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London, London, UK. I earned my PhD at at the University of Siena in Siena. I am author of Prophet and Statesmen in Crafting Democracy in India: Political Leadership, Ideas, and Compromises (Lexington Books, 2019). My articles, reviews and essays have also been published, among others, on Asia Maior, Democratization and Political Studies Review. My research focuses on History and Politics in India, South-Asian history and Politics, Democracy in India, Indian Foreign Policy, Democratization and Authoritarianism in South Asia region, Comparative Politics, International Relations theory.
